December 7, 1970 REVENUE MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 61-70 SUBJECT : Payment of Internal Revenue Strip Stamps TO : Revenue Collection Agents, Tellers, Cash and Disbursing Officers and others concerned In order to obviate the possibilities of accepting dishonored checks and other modes of dubious payment in the purchase of cigarette strip stamps as required under the provisions of the Tobacco Products Regulations No. V-89, dated September 29, 1954, and as a measure to improve and facilitate the collection of specific tax on cigars, cigarettes and other products of tobacco, it is hereby required that only cash or verified bank manager's checks be accepted in payment of said strip stamps. aisa dc This Order shall take effect immediately.
