October 27, 1970 REVENUE MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 56-70 A Committee has been created to work on a project to update the National Internal Revenue Code, pursuant to the request of the Chairman of the House Committee on Ways and Means and as envisioned in the State of the Nation message of the President. To effect a more comprehensive revision of the Tax Code, it is deemed advisable to seek the aid of every official and employee of this Bureau by way of submitting suggestions or proposals calculated to improve the Tax Code either in its substantive or procedural aspect. It goes without saying that whatever improvement is introduced into our tax system, the nation in general and the personnel of this Bureau in particular will benefit therefrom. cd Every official and employee of this Bureau is, therefore, urged to submit his written suggestion or proposal, complete with justification, to Mr. Lauro D. Abrahan, Chairman of the Tax Code Revision Committee. The deadline for the submission of such proposal is December 31, 1970. MISAEL P. VERA Commissioner of Internal Revenue
