July 14, 1969 REVENUE MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 36-69 SUBJECT : Prescribing the Code Symbols of Organization in the National and Regional Offices of the Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Units of Organization Under them Effective August 1, 1969, the code symbols indicated below are hereby prescribed for use by the units of organization concerned in preparing correspondence, reports, etc., emanating from the said units irrespective of the official who will sign the papers or correspondence. aisadc I. Regional Director R (Adm.) Administrative Branch R (As) Assessment Branch R (C) Collection Branch R (L) Legal Branch To illustrate, the Administrative Branch in Revenue Region No. 12 will have the symbol R-12 (Adm.); the Assessment Branch in Revenue Region No. 6, R-6 (As); and the Revenue Director of Revenue Region No. 20, R-20 (D). All official papers (reports, orders, memoranda, letters, etc.) should bear the organization code symbol of the office initiating the document. All officials should see to it that the organization code symbol is always placed at the lower left hand after the signatures of any document. Any paper sent for action shall not be processed or filed without the organization code symbol; it shall be returned to the office of origin for the affixture of the symbol.
