Restating Executive Order No. 129 Governing the Transportation for Official Travel Abroad of Officials and Employees of the Government

December 16, 1980 REVENUE MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 34-80 SUBJECT : Restating ExecutiveOrder No. 129 Governing the Transportation for Official Travel Abroad of Officials and Employees of the Government TO : All Revenue Officials and Employees and Others Concerned For reasons of economy, and to enable a greater number of revenue personnel to travel officially abroad, it is hereby made a policy that except for the Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioners, officials and employees authorized to travel abroad shall be allowed transportation which shall be of the economy class. Under Executive Order No. 129, officials and employees who are authorized to travel abroad on scholarships, fellowships, and training or study grants shall be entitled to transportation next below the first class, provided , that in case the host country or sponsoring organization or agency provides a lower class of transportation, the grantee or trainee concerned may avail himself of the class of transportation herein authorized, the additional cost to be borne by the office if funds are available therefor. In case officials and employees authorized to travel abroad on conferences, special missions, and other non-study trips are not provided with transportation by the host country or sponsoring organization or agency, they shall be allowed, pursuant to Executive Order No. 129, official transportation which shall be of the economy class unless otherwise specified in the travel authority.
