October 4, 1972 REVENUE MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 31-72 SUBJECT : Amendment to Revenue Memorandum Order No. 34-68 dated June 13, 1968 TO : All Internal Revenue Officers and Employees Concerned Revenue Memorandum Order No. 34-68 requires that Collection agents, cash clerks and municipal treasurers acting as collection agents accept only cash (Central Bank Notes and coins) as the only form of payments for documentary stamps sold; checks of whatever kind are no longer acceptable for payments like this. Peso Bills, especially those of higher denomination, should be examined thoroughly to prevent acceptance of fake peso bills. The above Revenue Memorandum Order is amended insofar as authorized agent banks (banks authorized to receive internal revenue tax payments), are concerned, in the sense that said banks, are hereby allowed to purchase documentary or science stamps with Manager's and Cashier's checks .
