August 26, 1996 REVENUE MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 24-96 SUBJECT : Temporary Stoppage of On-Going Repairs Renovations of BIR Offices TO : All Internal Revenue Officers and Others Concerned In line with the transformation program of the Bureau of Internal Revenue, an Office Planning Committee (OPC) has been created per (RSO No. 503-96) to undertake the overall space planning and interior design of all offices situated at the National Office Building as well as all Regional and District Offices, in order to achieve a world-class productivity oriented public service institution. All on-going repairs/renovations of any BIR office is hereby stopped temporarily. Considered exempt from this Order are awarded contracts and installation necessary for the Tax Computerization Project of the BIR as well as emergency repairs/renovations (i.e. leak in the ceiling and faucets, defective windows and doors). Any other repair/renovation not classified within the scope of the aforesaid exemptions shall have to be reviewed by the OPC Chairperson, HREA Leonor S. Villalon of the Management and Planning Service, for recommendation to the Deputy Commissioner of the Resource Management Group. This order takes effect immediately.
