June 4, 1973 REVENUE MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 20-73 SUBJECT : Use of Taxpayer Account Number (TAN) TO : All Revenue Officers and Employees In order to stress to taxpayers the importance of Taxpayer's Account Number, it is hereby ordered that all official communications and/or letters to be prepared for the signature of any official of this Bureau should invariably bear his TAN in the way I have indicated mine under my designation as shown below. cdt The taxpayer when he answers official communications or addresses a letter to any government official should, likewise, be required to indicate also his Taxpayer's Account Number. For this purpose, the following should be typed or printed at the bottom of the letter and/or correspondence: ''TAXPAYERS SHOULD INDICATE THEIR TAN IN ALL COMMUNICATIONS TO THE BIR."
