April 2, 1997 REVENUE MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 15-97 SUBJECT : 1997 BIR Family Day/Mini-Olympics TO : All Revenue Officials and Employees I. OBJECTIVE In support of the Bureau's "Integrating the BIR Family" Project, the 2nd Annual BIR Family Day and Mini-Olympics shall be celebrated on Saturday, April 26, 1997. As in the previous year, the Bureau shall celebrate its Annual Family Day/Mini-Olympics in order to: 1. Gather together the members of the BIR Family on a special day in order to enjoy a period of rest and recreation in the company of their families and associates; and 2. Foster the spirit of teamwork, fellowship and brotherhood throughout the Bureau, in order to broaden spheres of friendship among revenue personnel. LLjur II. POLICIES AND GUIDELINES A. PARTICIPATING OFFICES All revenue personnel of the National Office and the following Revenue Regional Offices are encouraged to actively participate in all activities slated during the Family Day: a. RR No. 4, San Fernando, Pampanga b. RR No. 5, Valenzuela c. RR No. 6, Manila d. RR No. 7, Quezon City e. RR No. 8, Makati City f. RR No. 9, San Pablo City All Revenue Regional Offices outside the Metropolitan Manila Area are encouraged to organize activities for their own Family Day/Mini-Olympics, to be held simultaneously with the festivities at the National Office. In this manner, all revenue personnel throughout the country shall be one in spirit during this annual celebration of friendship, camaraderie and teamwork. B. SCHEDULED ACTIVITIES 1. HATAW EXERCISE The 2nd Annual Family Day / Mini-Olympics shall begin promptly at 8:00 AM with the HATAW Exercise, which shall be led by the National Office HATAW-Monitors. All revenue personnel from the National Office and the visiting Regional Offices, together with their families, should actively participate in the Exercise. 2. MINI-OLYMPICS PARADE The Mini-Olympics Parade shall follow the HATAW Exercise. Participating revenue personnel shall be garbed in color-coded T-shirts representing their respective Offices The official colors for each participating Office are: National Office a. Commissioner's Office Group Peach b. Operations Group Apple Green c. Resource Management Group Aquamarine d. Information Systems Group White e. Andersen Consulting Group Dark Orange Regional Offices a. RR No. 4, San Fernando, Pampanga Canary Yellow b. RR No. 5, Valenzuela Lilac c. RR No. 6, Manila Emerald Green d. RR No. 7, Quezon City Royal Blue e. RR No. 8, Makati City Red f. RR No. 9, San Pablo City Fuschia Pink Each Service of the National Office, as well as all participating Regional Offices, are requested to designate two (2) Parade Marshals. The Marshals may coordinate with HREA Eduardo Pamittan of the Collection Service and the Parade's Head Marshall, for details on their duties and responsibilities. 3. CHEERING SQUAD COMPETITION Another highlight of the Family Day/Mini-Olympics is the Cheering Squad Competition. All participating National Office Groups and Regional Offices are invited to enter their respective Cheering Squads. The mechanics of the Competition are enumerated in the attached Annex to this Memorandum Circular. 4. FAMILY DAY TIANGGE The Family Day Tiangge, and other booths offering various items, dry good, and other consumer goods, shall be set up in a strategic area within the National Office Compound. Everyone is invited to view the products offered by these establishments. 5. MINI-OLYMPICS EVENTS AND CHILDREN'S GAMES Children and other family members of all revenue personnel from the participating Offices are invited to actively participate in the Mini-Olympics and other games. Delightful prizes, are at stake for all competitors. C. FOOD AND REFRESHMENTS All revenue personnel are requested to bring food items and refreshments for their respective noonday meals (lunch). III.
