April 3, 1972 REVENUE MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 11-72 SUBJECT : Prescribing the Work Hours During Summer Season TO : All Internal Revenue Officers and Others Concerned For the information and guidance of all internal revenue officers and others concerned, there is quoted hereunder Memorandum Circular No. 557 of the Office of the President, dated March 20, 1972: MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 557 PRESCRIBING THE WORK HOURS DURING THE SUMMER SEASON APRIL 1 TO JUNE 15, 1972, INCLUSIVE "In view of the exigencies of the service and the demands of the times, such as the need for continuity in the discharge of government functions, and in order to afford government employees ample time for weekend visits to the province and to promote local tourism, heads of departments and of independent offices, as well as of provincial, city and municipal governments, are hereby granted the discretion to group the employees under them into two for the purpose of letting these groups enjoy a three-day weekend alternately during the summer season (April 1 to June 15, 1972.) "The usual office hours (8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Mondays through Fridays) will be observed, except that the group scheduled for a three-day weekend will work only from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Fridays and 12:30 p.m. to 5.30 on Mondays. "This Circular shall not apply to the offices in he City of Baguio, whether national, provincial or municipal, and to officers and employees engaged in field work. "By authority of the President: (SGD) ALEJANDRO MELCHOR "Executive Secretary" Accordingly, all Revenue Operations Heads, Chiefs of Divisions and units in the National Office, Regional Directors and Revenue District Officers shall organize the employees under their jurisdiction into two groups, each of which shall enjoy the three-day weekend alternately beginning April 18, 1972 to June 15, 1972. In units such as Collection Agents Offices where there is only one employee making it impossible to form two groups, the discretion is given to the Revenue District Officer to make the necessary arrangement for the employee concerned to enjoy the three-day weekend. The names of the officers and employees and the particular period that they are to enjoy the three-day weekend should be submitted to the Chief, Personnel Division. aisa dc For the group that is slated to enjoy the three-day weekend, the employees in the group shall render service at the beginning of the week from 8:00 a. m. to 12:00 noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. On Friday they shall render service from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and to be off the whole afternoon of Friday after 12:30 p.m. The next Monday, the group in at 12:30 p.m. and render service up to 5:30 p.m.. For the group that is not slated to enjoy the three-day weekend during the particular week, the employees in the said group shall render service from 8:00 a.m. to 12.00 noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The provisions of this Revenue Memorandum Order relative to the enjoyment of the three-day weekend shall not apply to revenue offices in the City of Baguio and officers and employees who are engaged in field work. Those engaged in field work shall include examiners, revenue inspectors including those assigned to establishments manufacturing or dealing in articles subject to specific tax, drug inspectors and revenue seizure agents assigned to service and execute warrants of distraint and levy.
