Instructions on Use of Electric Currents

January 8, 1965 REVENUE MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 02-65 TO : All Internal Revenue Officers and Employees It has been noted by this Office that electric lights and electric fans in the different offices of this Bureau have been used indiscreetly. In view of the stringent, precarious financial condition of the government, it is desired that utmost economy in the use of electric current be strictly observed. For this purpose, to effect economy in the expenditure of public funds, the following instructions on the use of electric current are hereby promulgated for compliance by all concerned: aisadc 1. Electric lights and electric fans should be turned off during noon break when the employees are out for lunch; 2. Electric lights should be turned off in offices which have no need for light during certain hours of the day; 3. After the close of business hours, all electric lights and electric fans should be turned off except one light which should remain on the whole night; and 4. All air conditioning units should be turned off during noon breaks and after office hours. Likewise, it is also directed that all Chiefs of Branches who are closetted in their rooms, should remove their partitions. In this way, it will give more space and ventilation to their already crowded offices and closer supervision over the personnel under them. Strict compliance with this Order is enjoined. (SGD.)
