January 20, 2014 REVENUE MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 005-14 TO : All Revenue Officials, Employees and Others Concerned RE : Prescribing the Use of the Philippine Tariff Finder On the occasion of its 60th year, the Tariff Commission (TC) announced its new frontline service, the PHILIPPINE TARIFF FINDER (PTF) a free online facility hosted on the TC's website which allows the user to do a quick search of Philippine tariff rates on specific products. The PTF incorporates a search engine and allows access to all eight existing tariff schedules. The steps on how to use the facility are provided in the attached brochure, copy of which is hereto-attached as Annex "A". Accordingly, all revenue officials, employees and others concerned are hereby directed to use the PTF online facility on accessing information of Philippine tariff rates on specific products. JACINTO-HENARES Commissioner of Internal Revenue ANNEX A Republic of the Philippines Tariff Commission In pursuit of inclusive, sustainable and rapid national growth, and in celebration of its 60th year, the Tariff Commission is pleased to present the PHILIPPINE TARIFF FINDER, a free online facility hosted on the Commission's website which allows the user to do a quick search of Philippine tariff rates on specific products. The first of its kind among ASEAN, this new frontline service incorporates a search engine and allows access to all eight existing Philippine tariff schedules. To use the facility, simply type in a keyword(s) or an ASEAN Harmonized Tariff Nomenclature (AHTN) product Code. CIAacS The PHILIPPINE TARIFF FINDER may be found on the Commission's website at www.tariffcommission.gov.ph . Follow these steps in using the PHILIPPINE TARIFF FINDER: 1. Choose a Philippine tariff schedule. 2. Type in a keyword(s) or an AHTN 2012 Code (at least 4 digits). 3. Upon entering a valid keyword(s), the PTF will provide an initial listing of all the 4-digit, 6-digit and 8-digit tariff headings containing your keyword(s). Typing in an AHTN 2012 Code will yield the 4-digit, 6-digit, and 8-digit tariff headings containing said Code. Browse through the listing and click on the particular tariff heading or product that you are interested in. 4. A Tariff Heading Map results box will appear, which is intended to show, for reference, the parent Code(s) of the product you chose in Step 3. If the item you chose is a tariff line, i.e. , an AHTN 2012 Code with tariff rates, a Tariff Details results box will also appear, showing the tariff schedule of your product. 5. If the product you chose in Step 3 is not a tariff line, another search box will appear below the Tariff Heading Map box. This search box is entitled Product Name , and below its title, the item you chose will be displayed. In the Product Name search box itself, tariff headings falling under the item you chose will be listed. HcTDSA Choose/click an item in the Product Name search box. You will know that you have chosen a tariff line when the Tariff Details results box appears showing your product and its tariff schedule.
