November 4, 1999 REVENUE MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 75-99 SUBJECT : Revoking Executive Order No. 45, Series of 1998 TO : All Internal Revenue Officers, and Employees and Others Concerned For the information and guidance of revenue officials and employees, quoted hereunder is Executive Order No. 157 dated September 9, 1999 of the President: "REVOKING EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 45, SERIES OF 1998 WHEREAS, a Presidential Anti-Smuggling Task Force was created to investigate and prosecute crimes involving large scale smuggling and other frauds committed against the Tariff and Customs Code as amended and other related laws; WHEREAS, in the exigency of the service, there is need to abolish the said Presidential Task Force; and, WHEREAS, the Administrative Code of 1987 empowers the President with the continuing authority to reorganize the Office of the President; NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order: SECTION 1. Executive Order No. 45, Series of 1998, entitled "Creating a Presidential Anti-Smuggling Task Force to Investigate and Prosecute Crimes Involving Large-Scale Smuggling and Other Frauds Upon Customs and Providing Measures to Expedite Seizure Proceedings" is hereby revoked. SECTION 2. The remaining amount of its initial allocation of Twenty Million Pesos not spent shall revert back to the President's Contingent Fund. SECTION 3. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately. DONE in the City of Manila, this 9th day of September in the year of our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Ninety nine. (SGD.)
