November 12, 1974 REVENUE MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 65-74 SUBJECT : Authorized Agent Banks Requested to Indicate Clearly and Legibly the Tax Code Number in All Central Bank Official Receipts as Shown in the Tax Payment Acceptance Order (TPAO) TO : All Internal Revenue Officers and others concerned There is quoted hereunder the Memorandum to all Authorized Agent Banks dated October 18, 1974 issued by Mr. Amado R. Brias, Senior Deputy Governor, Central Bank of the Philippines, for your information, reference and guidance, as follows: "As requested by the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Authorized Agent Banks are requested to place clearly and legibly the TAX CODE number in all official receipts issued as shown in Tax Payment Acceptance Order (TPAO)." It is possible that authorized revenue officials and employees may not have indicated in the TPAO the TAX CODE number or may have indicated the wrong code. The TAX CODE number is a vital information in the revenue accounting process to properly identify the account in order that the payment can be credited to the correct account. It is for this reason that the TAX CODE should always be indicated in the space provided therefor. Please be guided accordingly. MISAEL P. VERA Commissioner of Internal Revenue TAN-1601-593-5
