Christmas Decoration Contest

November 26, 1996 REVENUE MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 55-96 SUBJECT : Christmas Decoration Contest TO : All Revenue Officials and Personnel Concerned (National Office) Pursuant to the memorandum of the Commissioner of Internal Revenue dated November 11, 1996, one of the activities slated in the National Office for the month of December is the Christmas Decor Contest which starts on December 2, 1996. I. Rules and Guidelines 1. Participants to the contest include all Divisions and other Offices in the National Office except the Offices of the Commissioner Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners. 2. The decorations to be used should be made of inexpensive native materials . The use of imported decorations shall result in a ten percent (10%) deduction from the over-all score. However, the use of reasonable and inexpensive Christmas lights is allowed. 3. The decorations should depict a "theme". It is suggested that the "theme" should be one that is representative of the Division or the Office or one that portrays the nature of their function or work. II. Criteria In deciding the winners, the participating Divisions and Offices will be judged on the following criteria: 1) Originality This covers the uniqueness of the christmas decorations using inexpensive native materials. (50%) 2. Creativity a) Thematic Impact This covers the consistency and appropriateness of the decorations used to portray the theme of the Division or Office. (25%) b) Innovativeness This covers artistic execution preparation of the christmas decorations. (25%) III. Board of Judges The Board of Judges shall be composed of the following: 1. The Commissioner or her authorized representative. 2. The Deputy Commissioner for Operations Group or his authorized representative. 3. The Deputy Commissioner for Resource Management Group or her authorized representative. 4. The Deputy Commissioner for Information System Group or her authorized representative. IV. Judging Period The judging for the best christmas decor will take place on December 16-19, 1996. V. Announcement of Winners : There shall be three (3) winners in this contest. Divisions/offices garnering the top three (3) overall scores will be proclaimed as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winner respectively. Announcement of winners will be made during the National Office Christmas Program on December 20, 1996 at 2:00 P.M. VI. Prizes and Recognition : The three (3) winners will be receiving Certificate of Recognition and a surprise gift for their respective Divisions or Offices. For your guidance and compliance.
