October 15, 1997 REVENUE MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 44-97 SUBJECT : Observance of 1997 Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week TO : All Revenue Officials and Employees and Others Concerned For the information and guidance of all revenue officials and employees, quoted hereunder is a memorandum from the Executive Director & Board Member, Dangerous Drugs Board dated August 11, 1997. liblex "Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 335 dated October 18, 1988, entitled "Declaring the Third Week of November of Every Year as Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week", the Dangerous Drugs Board will again spearhead this year's nationwide observance thereof on November 9-15, 1997, the theme for this year's celebration being "Makabagong Pakikibaka Laban sa Droga." The six (6) other ASEAN member countries (Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) will, likewise, jointly celebrate this event during the same month in pursuance of a Resolution of the 9th meeting of ASEAN Senior Officials on Drug Matters (ASOD) in Malaysia in 1985, and reiterated in the 10th Meeting of the same group in Manila on 29th of September to 3 October, 1996. In this connection, we are respectfully submitting herewith for the Secretary's consideration and/or signature a proposed Department Circular, enjoining officials of the various offices under the Department of Finance to participate actively in the observance of DAPC Week 1997.
