July 21, 1964 REVENUE MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 27-64 SUBJECT : Publishing Section 11 of Republic Act No. 2640 Which Provides for Tax Exemption of the Veterans Federation of the Philippines TO : All Internal Revenue Officers and Employees and Others Concerned For the information and guidance of all concerned, there is quoted hereunder Section 11 of Republic Act No. 2640, An Act To Create A Public Corporation To Be Known As The Veterans Federation of the Philippines: "Sec. 11. The Federation is expressly exempted from payment of any and all taxes". Salient Features of the Exempting Provision The Federation is expressly exempted from payment of any and all taxes. The exemption refers only to the Federation as a body corporate, and it does not apply to any individual veteran. Date of Effectivity Republic Act No. 2640 took effect on June 18, 1960, the date of its approval. Enforcement and Publicity All internal revenue officers and employees and others charged with the enforcement of internal revenue laws are hereby enjoined to give this circular as wide a publicity as possible. aisadc (SGD.)
