BIR Centennial Anniversary Celebration

March 29, 2004 REVENUE MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 25-04 SUBJECT : BIR Centennial Anniversary Celebration TO : All Internal Revenue Officials, Employees and Others Concerned I. Background The Bureau of Internal Revenue, the country's premier tax collection agency, is celebrating its 100th year anniversary with the theme, Sandaang Taong Singkad Buwis Kaagapay sa Pag-unlad . Activities and programs are geared towards chronicling the bureau's past achievements and present programs. In addition, the celebration will also be highlighted with the launch of the bureau's future plans and programs to strengthen its mandate and vision of providing efficient, effective and impartial enforcement of tax laws. In line with the year-long celebration, the Commissioner of Internal Revenue formed a committee composed of BIR officials and employees (RSO No. 102-2004). Committee members are tasked to plan and coordinate all activities for the centennial celebration. II. BIR Centennial Activities Following are the major activities to celebrate the bureau's centennial celebration: HIEAcC Activities Objectives Educational 1. Search for the BIR Tax Continuing tax education of Bureau personnel and Wizard at the same time discovering the best among the brightest among Bureau personnel 2. Tax Congress Exchange of information and ideas on tax (c/o BIREA) administration with members of the private sector and non-government organizations Arts and Cultural 1. Exhibit, BIR through the Present the bureau's major accomplishments during Years its 100 years 2. Souvenir Program/ Document the bureau's history, achievements and Supplement (Graphics, future plans in print etc.) Sports and Recreation 1. Sportsfest Showcase BIR employees athletic achievements through sports competition 2. Family Day Strengthen the familial bond among bureau personnel including their family members through sports and physical activities 3. Golf Tournament Develop and strengthen rapport between BIR (c/o BIREA) officers and members of the private sectors through sports competition Search for BIR Model Motivate and inspire revenue employees to uphold Employee the highest standard of behavior Search for Ms. BIR Discover beautiful and talented BIR employees who can assist in the bureaus tax campaign Centennial Night Foster camaraderie among the bureau's executives and managers in the national and regional offices Members of the BIR Centennial Anniversary Committee will come up with updates and announcements on the details and schedules for each activity. Moreover, they shall call on other revenue employees to participate in the preparation and implementation of the above-mentioned activities.
