May 8, 1998 REVENUE MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 19-98 SUBJECT : Decentralization of Museum Services TO : All Revenue Officials and Employees and Others Concerned For the information and guidance of all revenue officials and employees, quoted hereunder is Department Memorandum Circular No. 1-98 dated April 15, 1998 of the Department of Finance on the above-captioned subject matter: "DEPARTMENT MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 1-98 April 15, 1998 TO : All Heads of Offices, Bureaus, Agencies and Corporations under/attached to the Department of Finance SUBJECT : DECENTRALIZATION OF MUSEUM SERVICES Quoted hereunder is the full text of the memorandum dated April 6, 1998 of Mr. Demetrio L. Ignacio, Jr., Secretary to the Cabinet and Acting Head, PMS on the above-captioned subject matter: "The President and the Cabinet, at the Cabinet meeting held today at the National Museum in Valencia Circle, Manila discussed the programs and projects of the National Museum as presented by its Executive Director Fr. Gabriel Casal. In the course of the discussion, the need to extend all possible assistance to the National Museum in its effort to decentralize museum services to the different regions by donating items/articles for display in the provinces, was suggested. Relative thereto, the President instructed the members of the Cabinet to assist, through their regional and provincial offices, the National Museum in the implementation of its program to decentralize museum services to the regions by donating to the National Museum articles or items that they collected during their incumbency which they think would further enrich the historical value of the articles being displayed in the provinces. Kindly submit a report on your compliance with the President's instruction to the Office of the President, copy furnished the Presidential Management Staff, as soon as possible. Thank you for your continued cooperation." "In this connection, you are hereby enjoined to request all heads of units under your respective jurisdiction, particularly those with regional and provincial offices to turn-over to the National Museum whatever item/s of historical value their offices may have, furnishing this Department with corresponding list thereof.
