October 5, 2022 REVENUE MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 138-2022 SUBJECT : Circularizing the List of BIR Official Social Media Accounts TO : All Internal Revenue Officials and Employees, and Others Concerned For the information and guidance of all internal revenue officials, employees and others concerned, attached as "Annex A" of this Circular is the List of BIR Official Social Media Accounts being managed by the Primary Social Media Team and Sub-Social Media Teams of the Bureau. The BIR officially adopted the use of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube) in 2018 through the issuance of Revenue Memorandum Order (RMO) No. 24-2018 to widely and quickly disseminate information on new tax laws and regulations, policies, processes, procedures, updates on various programs and projects of the Bureau, and other tax-related information. The Bureau likewise issued RMO No. 7-2022 to prescribe the policies and guidelines in creating and managing the BIR Social Media Accounts by the Primary Social Media Team and Sub-Social Media Teams of the Bureau, among others. Per Section V.5 of RMO No. 7-2022, social media pages/accounts that are not included in the List of BIR Official Social Media Accounts published in this Circular are not recognized as official and, therefore, are prohibited from using the BIR logo, tax campaign theme and logo, or any other symbols that represent the BIR to prevent identity misrepresentation. All internal revenue officials, employees and others concerned are encouraged to like, follow, subscribe, and to comment, share and perform other forms of engagement in the BIR Official Social Media Accounts listed in Annex A to help the BIR reach more taxpayers through social media. LILIA CATRIS GUILLERMO Commissioner of Internal Revenue ATTACHMENT Primary Social Media Team and RRs/RDOs Sub-social Media Team Under Revenue Memorandum Order No. 7-2022, the Primary Social Media Team is responsible for managing the primary social media accounts of the BIR National Office. At the same time, the Sub-Social Media Teams are designated personnel from the RRs and RDOs. They are responsible for managing the social media accounts of their respective Offices. The members of the Primary and Sub-Social Media Teams are listed below.
