January 14, 2020 REVENUE MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 007-20 SUBJECT : Suspension of Deadlines in the Acceptance of Tax Returns and Payment of Internal Revenue Taxes of Taxpayers in the Province of Batangas TO : All Internal Revenue Officers and Others Concerned In view of the announcement of Batangas Governor Mark Leviste, declaring the province of Batangas under the State of Calamity due to the recent volcanic eruption of the Taal Volcano affecting numerous cities, towns and municipalities in its vicinity, this Office found it proper to suspend the deadlines, for the month of January, on the filing and payment of tax returns in the area until such time that the situation returns to normal. This relief is limited to taxpayers under the jurisdiction of Revenue District Offices (RDOs) No. 58 (Batangas City, West Batangas) and No. 59 (Lipa City, East Batangas) that are directly affected by the volcanic eruption. There will be no imposition of penalties due to late filing and payments of tax returns until an advisory from this Office is issued to resume regular operations. All revenue officials, employees and others concerned are hereby enjoined to give this Circular as wide a publicity as possible. (SGD.) CAESAR R. DULAY Commissioner of Internal Revenue
