SP-1959-09 (PO2009-136) 71st Regular Session AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE DEADLINE FOR THE 2009 THIRD QUARTER PAYMENT OF REAL ESTATE TAXES FROM 30 SEPTEMBER 2009 TO 15 OCTOBER 2009 Introduced by: Councilors Voltaire Godofredo L. Matias WHEREAS, in view of the recent devastation brought about by Tropical Cyclone "Ondoy" to our city, the extension of the Third Quarter deadline of payment of Real Estate Tax is needed; WHEREAS, many of our constituencies suffered major devastation in their homes brought about by the recent ravaging of "Ondoy" and it is deemed appropriate for the City Government to grant an extension for the payment of the 3rd Quarter Real Estate taxes to give them ample time to prepare for their payments; WHEREAS, the City Government gives due consideration to the tax-paying public of Quezon City, a deadline for payments should be extended to at least (15) days to accommodate Real Estate Tax Payments without penalty; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF QUEZON CITY IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED: SECTION 1. Coverage. All quarterly Real Estate taxes and fees due and payable to the Quezon City Government for the Third Quarter of 2009 which is due to be paid on or before 30 September 2009 can be paid not later than 15 October 2009, without any penalty, surcharge or interest. SECTION 2. Penalties and Interests. All Real Estate taxes and fees due for the current period shall however, be subject to the penalties and interest prescribed by the Quezon City Revenue Code if not paid on or before 15 October 2009. TAaHIE SECTION 3. Credit. Any penalty, surcharges or interest paid by the tax payer before the effectivity of this Ordinance, will be credited to the Fourth Quarter payments. SECTION 4. Repealing Clause. Any provision of law, executive orders, ordinances or other rules and regulations inconsistent with the provision of this ordinance is hereby repealed, amended, or modified accordingly. SECTION 5.
