January 4, 2013 PSE MEMORANDUM NO. TPA-0007-13 TO : All PSE Trading Participants SUBJECT : Invitation for Membership to PSE Foundation, Inc. Happy New Year to All! The Board of Trustees of the Philippine Stock Exchange Foundation, Inc. during its meeting held on December 18, 2012, decided to reiterate its invitation to all trading participants to register as members of the Foundation. To date only 58 trading participants out of 184 of them are registered members. Please note that the Board of Trustees in its meeting held on June 2, 2011 reiterated the present policy limiting Foundation membership to directors, officers and stockholders of trading participants. It also confirmed the present practice of allowing only one (1) representative from each trading participant. Please recall that the Foundation was established in 1995 as the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of the then mutualized Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. Accordingly, all member-brokers (now called trading participants) were automatically made members of the Foundation. In an effort to encourage trading participants to signify their active interest, the Board of Trustees launched a campaign in 2003 requiring attendance of representatives, in person or by proxy, during its annual membership meeting. Absence for three (3) consecutive years shall result in delisting of the trading participant from the membership. It is the intention of the Board of Trustees to encourage trading participants to show their keen interests in the work of the Foundation. Its major advocacy is the development of public investor awareness and education on the stock market. It has also shown quick and strong response to victims of typhoons and calamities. It strives to project to the public its solidarity with the country's economic, as well as, social concerns. Attached is a Membership Application Form. You may send it via email to [emailprotected] , or by messenger to the PSE Foundation office at the 2/F, PSE Plaza, Ayala Triangle, Ayala Ave., Makati City.
