November 25, 1999 PSE MEMO FOR BROKERS NO. 393-99 SUBJECT : Y2K Street Wide Testing Reminders Further to our Memorandum For Brokers No. 384-99 on the same subject, attached is the PCD Y2K Street-Wide Test (SWT) Guidelines on how to conduct the PCD-related settlement activities this week-end. Please note that the beginning balances to be used in the simulated settlement will be as of end-of-day of Friday, 26 November 1999 . Moreover, please be reminded that: 1. Brokers who have been formally advised by PSE that they have already satisfactorily submitted the required print-outs and certification based on previous SWT's need not submit the required checklist and attachments. Otherwise, the Broker has to submit all required reports duly certified as an original printout by the firm's President & Operation Chief. 2. Based on the result of the test, brokers shall submit a final Y2K Readiness Certification signed by the nominee and the president. Beginning balances to be used will be as of end-of-day (EOD) of Nov. 26, 1999. All authorized users as of EOD Nov. 26 should able to access the fintracs system using their existing IDs and passwords. Login procedures will be similar to what is being done under normal production set-up. 2. On Nov. 27, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., there will be PCD personnel who will confirm all lodgements for transactions settling on Jan. 3 and Feb. 29. 3. The summary of PCD-related activities during the November Y2K STW is as follows: Date Time Activities Nov. 26 (Fri) 6pm to 7pm PSE shall send to PCD the Maktrades test data for Dec. 24 (settling on Jan. 3) and Feb. 23 (settling on Feb. 29) Nov. 27 (Sat) 5am to 9am PCD shall prepare the Y2K test environment 9am to 12nn Participant shall enter lodgments for transactions settling on Jan. 3, 2000 (Optional: Participants may also enter lodgements for transactions settling on Feb. 29, 2000 during this time instead of 1-4pm in the afternoon) 12nn to 1pm PCD shall run the SCCP batch settlement for Jan. 3, 2000 Participants shall be logged out of the System 1pm to 4pm Participants can view transactions that have settled on Jan. 3, 2000 Participants shall enter lodgments for transactions settling on Feb. 29, 2000 4pm All participants will logged out of the system 4pm to 11pm PCD shall perform Jan. 3, 2000 EOD processing, generate reports, and create backup Nov. 27 (Sat) & 11pm to 2am PCD shall perform Feb. 29, 2000 EOD processing, Nov. 28 (Sun) generate reports, and create backup Nov. 29 (Mon) 8am to 5pm Participants can call PCD to request for the extract of the Y2K files/reports for Jan. 3 and Feb. 29, 2000.
