September 3, 1999 PSE MEMO FOR BROKERS NO. 318-99 SUBJECT : Changes to the Maktrade System Please be informed of the following changes to the Maktrade System effective Monday, September 6 1999: prcd 1. Short Selling Feature This new version now contains the implementation of short selling facility. However, this feature will initially be turned off and all changes or references related to shortselling in the Order Entry, Deal Entry, View Orders, and View Deals windows can be ignored. This will only be activated once the rules and procedures are in place and pending approval of the Board of these procedures . LexLib 2. Stock Information An ISIN (International Securities Identification Number) field has been added. The ISIN is an international standard (ISO 6166) security coding structure to uniquely identify securities in the course of trading and administration of securities worldwide. LibLex 3. Messages and News In response to the request of a number of brokers, the following changes were implemented in the Messages and News (F9) function. Messages and News are now displayed in reverse order for readability. This means that the last message posted will be at the bottom of the window. The source of PSE admin messages is now identified as either from the Market Regulator (MRTERM), the Disclosures Dept. (DSTERM) or the Surveillance Dept. (SVTERM). Further, color-coding scheme was implemented with DSTERM messages colored blue. MRTERM colored red, and SVTERM colored green. The system-generated messages (report of done transactions, error messages, etc) will still be in black text.
