February 4, 1999 PSE MEMO FOR BROKERS NO. 066-99 SUBJECT : Changes to the Maktrade System Please be informed of the following changes to the Maktrade System which will be effective Monday, 08 Feb 1999: LexLib A. CANCELLATION OF PRE-OPEN ORDERS To preclude the inadvertent violation of the Rule on no cancellation of pre-open orders especially during the last few seconds before "Market Open" and pursuant to the Board resolution on this matter, requests for cancellation from 9:30 A.M. until the Market is declared open shall automatically be rejected by the System . An "Order Cancel" pop-up window, as illustrated below, will be displayed when a trader attempts to cancel an order during the said period. [Orders may still be cancelled during the period 9:00 a.m. up to before 9:30 a.m. but will be subjected to appropriate penalties.] B. SPECIAL BLOCK SALES In line with the new rule on special block sales as announced in Memo for Brokers No. 579-98, the Maktrade System will no longer allow the entry of two-firm put-through deals. Thus, in the Deal Entry window (F6), a Block Sale entry will automatically be made a cross, with the Buyer side Broker and Trader IDs displayed but not modifiable, as illustrated in the following figure: Broker Id For inquiries or assistance on these changes, please approach the Help Desk staff at the trading floors.
