Item 9 - Other Events JG Summit affiliate acquires 23% of Singapore's United Industrial Corporation. Cdphil Telegraph Developments Ltd. (TDL), an affiliate of JG Summit Holdings, Inc., entered into a sales and purchase agreement with KMP United Ventures Pte. Ltd. (KMP), an affiliate of the Salim Group of Indonesia, to purchase KMP's 23% stake of Singapore listed company United Industrial Corporation (UIC Ltd). TDL will acquire 310,867,000 ordinary shares of UIC at a price S$1.00 per share. The transaction is expected to close on May 28, 1999.
