April 27, 1999 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 885-99 April 26, 1999 SECURITIES & EXCHANGE COMMISSION SEC Building, EDSA Mandaluyong City Disclosure Department Listings and Disclosure Group 4/F PHILIPPINE STOCK EXCHANGE PSE Centre, Exchange Road Ortigas Center, Pasig City Gentlemen : Pursuant to your disclosure rules, we wish you that due to heavy torrential rains that occurred during the past few days in our mine, we suspended milling operations on April 22, 1999 because of an abnormal amount of water that started to flow from the decant tower of our tailings pond as a result of a leak that developed in the said tower's wall. We immediately undertook repair works to check the heavy flow. We are presently draining the tailings pond to enable us to completely and effectively plug the leak and restore to normal conditions the flow of water.
