Grace de Guia Listing and Disclosure Group Ladies and Gentlemen : We refer to your fax letter requesting us to clarify the news article captioned "Southwestern Bell gives up PLDT partnership bid", published in the April 20, 1999 issue of Philippine Star. We advice that there are on-going discussions with a number of international telecommunication companies, including Southwestern Bell Corporation regarding a possible strategic investment to be made in PLDT.
