There is no official plan by PLDT to absorb 99% of Pilipino Telephone Corporation ("Piltel"), as reported in the April 5, 1999 issue of Philippine Daily Inquirer Discussions on a mutually acceptable rehabilitation plan with the creditors of Piltel are still ongoing. cdll No specific plan has yet been approved requiring a formal announcement.
