Stock Exchange Center Exchange Road, Ortigas Center Pasig City, Metro Manila Attention: Disclosure Department Listings and Disclosure Group SUBJECT : Central Azucarera De La Carlota Gentlemen : Please be informed that the Board of Directors of Central Azucarera de la Carlota, in its meeting held today, approved the retirement of Mr. Santiago Z. Ureta as President of the Company Mr. Ureta who turned 65 Years old last November 9, 1999 will serve as the President until the close of business hours of 30 April 1999. He will be replaced by Mr. Miguel A. Gaspar who was elected to the position effective 1 May 1999. Mr. Ureta will be retained as a consultant for a period of one (1) year after his retirement.
