March 25, 1999 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 594-99 SUBJECT : Universal Robina Corporation Universal Robina Corporation ("URC") clarified to the Exchange a news article published in the March 23, 1999 issue of the Manila Standard, which reported that URC of the Gokongwei group has proposed to acquire cash-strapped local chocolate manufacturing firm Serg's Products, Inc. In its letter, URC advised that: LLjur " . . .In reply, Universal Robina Corporation (URC) has not initiated nor is in any discussion/negotiation for the acquisition of Serg's Products, Inc.
