April 2, 1998 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 586-98 SUBJECT : China Banking Corporation China Banking Corporation ("CHIB") furnished the Exchange on April 1, 1998 a copy of SEC Form 34-C (Definitive Information Statement) in connection with its Annual Stockholders' Meeting which will be held on May 7, 1998, Thursday , at 4:00 p.m. at the China Banking Corporation Building, Penthouse, Paseo de Roxas corner Villar Street, Makati City. The agenda for the meeting shall be as follows: 1. Disposal of the Minutes of the immediately preceding meeting of the stockholders (May 8, 1997); 2. Report to stockholders for the year 1997; 3. Approval of Balance Sheet for the year ended December 31, 1997; 4. Ratification of all acts of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Management during the year 1997; 5. Election of the Board of Directors for the ensuing year; 6. Election of External Auditors; 7. Such other business as may properly come before it. Stockholders of record as of April 20, 1998 shall be entitled to notice and to vote at said meeting, and accordingly, the stock transfer books of the company will be closed from April 21, 1998 until the close of business on May 7, 1998 .
