March 2, 2000 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 543-00 SUBJECT : China Banking Corporation China Banking Corporation ("CHIB") advised the Exchange that its Board of Directors, at its regular meeting held on March 1, 2000 approved, confirmed and/or ratified to fix the record date at the close of business on April 14, 2000 for the determination of those entitled to vote in the forthcoming annual stockholders' meeting to be held at China Bank Building, Penthouse, Paseo de Roxas corner Villar Street, Makati City on May 4, 2000 at 4:00 p.m. and for said purpose, to have CHIB's transfer books closed from April 17, 2000 to May 4, 2000. The agenda for the meeting shall be as follows: 1. Disposal of the Minutes of the immediately preceding meeting of the stockholders; 2. Report to Stockholders for the year 1999; 3. Approval of Balance Sheet for year ended December 31, 1999; 4. Ratification of all acts of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Management during the year 1999; 5. Election of the Board of Directors for the ensuing term; 6. Election of External Auditors; 7. Such other business as may properly come before it. Those who cannot attend said meeting in person may appoint a proxy by accomplishing a proxy form and submitting the same to the office of the Corporate Secretary at least three (3) business days before the meeting.
