Grace B . de Guia Assistant Manager, Disclosure Department Gentlemen : This refers to your request for a clarification of the news article entitled "Ayala Offers To Buy Ortigas Property" which appeared in the March 1, 2000 issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer. Please be advised that Ayala Land submitted on January 31, 2000 a non-binding offer to purchase the properties offered for sale by the Ortigas Family. The offer, in addition to its being non-binding, is still subject to review by the Ortigas family, and is subject to certain conditions precedent. To date, we have not received any notice of the acceptance of our offer. Please note also that as implied from the statements attributed to Mr. Fernando Zobel in the article, the offer was made in the course of Ayala Land's normal business.
