March 1, 2000 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 524-00 SUBJECT : Manulife Financial Corporation Manulife Financial Corporation ("MFC") informed the Exchange that the Company intends to implement an Executive Stock Option Plan and a Stock Plan for Non-Employee Directors (the "Plans"). The Plans have been approved by the Board of Directors of MFC and are subject to approval by the Toronto Stock Exchange and MFC shareholders. The Plans will be submitted for shareholder approval at the Annual and Special Meeting of MFC to be held on May 4, 2000.
