February 23, 2000 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 455-00 SUBJECT : Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company This is with reference to the news article captioned "Metrobank sees net profit up 25% to P5B this year" published in the February 23, 2000 issue of the Business World which reported that Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company ("MBT") expects its net income to rise 25% this year to about P5 billion from last year's level. MBT, in a letter to the Exchange, clarified that: ". . . Our return on equity for the year 2000 is estimated at 10 to 11% which equates to a net income of around P5.25B.
