Gentlemen : We reply to your request for clarification on the news item entitled "San Miguel also eyeing coco shares" which appeared in the February 15, 2000 issue of the Manila Standard. The Management of the Company has not sought approval from the Company's board of directors on the matter of participating in any sale of the 27% block of the Company's shares.
