Garcia Head, Listing and Disclosure Group Gentlemen: We are pleased to advise you that FAR EAST SAVINGS BANK, INC. (FESB) , a wholly-owned subsidiary of FAR EAST BANK AND TRUST COMPANY , has been granted the Certificate of Authority to operate as a thrift bank by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. FESB has an authorized capital stock of P500,000,000.00 divided into 50,000,000 common shares with a par value of P10.00 per share. It has paid-up capital of P250,000,000.00. cdlex FESB will be operational on March 16, 1998 via the soft opening of its first branch, the Intramuros Branch, which is located at the Ground Floor of the Far East Bank Building I, Manila Street, Intramuros, Manila. It is targeting to open ten (10) branches within this year and a total of fifty (50) branches within the next five (5) years. FESB is positioned to provide financial services required principally by the retail market, i.e. students, housewives, employees, small and medium-sized business owners, or any one who seeks greater value and convenience from his savings bank.
