PLDT, Equitable-PCI to Establish Internet-Based Electronic Payment System

December 27, 1999 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 3288-99 PLDT, EQUITABLE-PCI TO ESTABLISH INTERNET-BASED ELECTRONIC PAYMENT SYSTEM Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), the country's leading telecommunications provider, and Equitable-PCI. one of the country's largest financial institutions, with the widest branch network, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop and establish a secure electronic-based payment module linked to PLDT's internet-based @ctive Bill website. Considered a first in the Philippine telecommunication industry, the landmark collaboration between these institutions will enable the corporate customers of the PLDT Group who are also corporate customers of Equitable-PCI Bank to view their bills on PLDT's @ctive Bill website and, through a link pay their bills using their Equitable-PCI account.
