December 20, 1999 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 3242-99 GLOBE TELECOM HOLDS SUCCESSFUL DRY RUN FOR Y2K GLOBE TELECOM held last December 9 a successful Y2K dry run of its systems and operations to test its Y2K-readiness against a simulated Y2K rollover date. The dry run was a part of GLOBE TELECOM's preparatory work to ensure full system readiness of the Company prior to the rollover. The dry run also tested contingency measures set up by the Company in case of Y2K-related failures to ensure minimum impact to Globe's business and subscribers. cdlex "We are very happy with the results of our recent Y2K dry run," said GLOBE TELECOM Assistant Vice President for Information Systems Fernando Teodoro, who is also Globe's Y2K Project Director. "The dry run was-well planned and executed. It provided us with the opportunity to successfully test our Company's Y2K-readiness as well as our reactions to possible contingencies that may happen during the rollover," he added. cdlex During the dry run, Globe's Y2K activities were directed through a Command Control Center. "The Command Control Center will be the nerve center of all our Y2K activities during the rollover. It is in charge of monitoring the status of procedures, communication among our various locations, and escalation of our processes in reaction to Y2K situations," shared Teodoro. Teodoro cites that GLOBE TELECOM has gained additional confidence in facing the Y2K bug with its successful dry run performance. "The conditions that we have simulated during the rollover were as close as we can get to the actual Y2K rollover. Having passed these tests during the dry run has made us even more confident of our system's Y2K-readiness and our ability to react to contingency situations that may arise," said Teodoro. prcd Globe achieved Y2K-readiness last June 1999, within schedule of its Y2K program.
