December 8, 1999 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 3129-99 Luisa W. Buenaventura Supervisor, Disclosure Department Philippine Stock Exchange Philippine Stock Exchange Center Pasig City Dear Ms. Buenaventura : We refer to your fax message today, December 8, 1993, regarding news article entitled " Uniwide debt relief paves way for talks with creditors" published in today's issue of Today. We confirm that there is a pending motion before the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for the extension of the order of the SEC regarding suspension of all claims and actions against the Uniwide Group of Companies. As stated in our letter dated December 7, 1999, said request would allow the group to pursue negotiations with the investor proponents to submit an amended Rehabilitation Plan to consider such terms and conditions as may be agreed upon with the new equity partner. However, to this time, we have not received any formal communication from our legal counsel whether the above motion has been acted upon. We shall be advising the Exchange as soon as we are able to confirm the news article. We hope that the foregoing sufficiently clarifies your inquiry. Very truly yours, (SGD.) SUSAN O.
