Gentlemen: In reply to your fax message of December 6, 1999, regarding the news article entitled "Metrobank Woos Scotiabank" published in 04 December 1999 issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, we wish to clarify that Metrobank, as the listed company in the exchange, is not a direct party to any transaction regarding Solid Bank.
