Garcia Officer-in-Charge Gentlemen: This is to inform you that at its regular meeting held on 22 November 1999, the Board of Directors of Far East Bank and Trust Co. approved the proposed Plan and Articles of Merger with the Bank of the Philippine Islands and endorsed it to the stockholders for approval. The Board also approved the calling of a special stockholders' meeting to approve said Plan of Merger on 20 January 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at the 20th Floor, Far East Bank Center, Sen. Gil J.
