Manager, Disclosure Department Gentlemen: In reply to your request for clarifications on the news articles published in the November 11, 1999 issues of the Philippine Daily Inquirer and The Business World which reported that Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company (Metrobank) is in deep negotiations with Solidbanking, Corporation's Filipino investors to gain 21% ownership of the Bank, we wish to clarify that Metrobank is not in deep negotiations with any investor.
