Grace B . de Guia Disclosure Department Ladies and Gentlemen: We refer to your fax letter which we received at 9:17 a.m. today, requesting for written confirmation/clarification on the news article captioned "PLDT taps HSBC for P1.5-b notes" published in the November 8, 1999 issue of the Manila Standard, which reported that on November 5, 1999 PLDT signed its first peso fixed rate corporate note facility in three tranches of three, five and seven years, totaling P1.5 billion with HSBC as the sole bookrunner and arranger for the deal.
