October 27, 1999 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 2758-99 SUBJECT : Allied Banking Corporation This is with reference to the news article entitled "Sequestration seen blocking Tan bid to sell Allied Bank" published in the October 26, 1999 issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer. The article reported that Mr. Lucio Tan cannot sell his stake in Allied Banking Corporation ("ABC") until the sequestration case over his group of companies is resolved. In its letter, ABC clarified that: ". . . to the best of our knowledge and information, no stockholder has indicated any desire or plan to sell his/her shares in the Bank. . . .
