November 26, 1998 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 2663-98 PRESS RELEASE PETRON SEES MORE MARKET FOR UNLEADED FUEL WITH NEW FUEL ADDITIVE The country's largest oil company expects an increase in the use of unleaded fuel with the introduction of an additive that will make old cars, especially those pre-1982 manufactured models, run with unleaded fuel. Petron Corporation calls the new compound Adgas with V-Valvemaster. This revolutionary fuel additive has been proven as an effective substitute to lead in the United States, Australia and Europe. Adgas with V-Valvemaster is however not lead base and contains organic elements that are not harmful to the environment. It is poured and mixed with unleaded fuel which gained popularity among environment-conscious motorists. Cars made before 1982 normally run on leaded fuel. The search for an alternative arose when lead was found to have an adverse effect on health. cdll Petron and other major oil companies agreed to retail unleaded fuel in compliance to the Clean Air Pact of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in 1993. The elimination of lead in fuel aims to reduce the amount of pollutants in the atmosphere. The need for promoting clean air has inspired Petron to rally for environmental sensitivity in its corporate mission. The introduction of environment-friendly products such as the unleaded fuel and the adgas with V-Valvemaster is part of that said mission.
