February 4, 2000 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 258-00 February 2, 2000 GLOBE HANDYPHONE BANNERS ALL-TIME-LOW PERMANENT RATES GLOBE TELECOM has announced that it has made permanent since the start of the year a new set of rate packages that features what Globe has dubbed as its "best-ever rates" for its Globe Handyphone cellular phone service. Globe in its new package has added more free airtime minutes and has significantly reduced the rates charged for cellular calls made by subscribers. prcd Covered by the new rates are subscribers of Globe Handyphone's regular subscription plans as well as Globe Handyphone Prepaid Plus subscribers. Among the highlights of Globe's new permanent rate package for all Globe Handyphone plans include providing up to 20% additional free minutes on top of what its subscribers used to get; and the lowest per-minute, cell-to-cell and NDD/IDD rates in the industry today. Globe Handyphone now offers up to 600 free airtime minutes per month. Also, its per-minute rate to landlines and other cellulars now go as low as P4.00 per minute, while Globe to Globe calls are as low as P2.00 per minute. In addition to featuring the lowest local and international long-distance rates in its new package, Globe Handyphone has also adopted fixed charges for NDD and IDD calls for each of its plans. This means Globe subscribers can now make an NDD call to any destination in the country and be charged the same low rate regardless of the area called. Globe's new NDD rates now go as low as P8.00 per minute for peak hours and P6.00 for off-peak hours. With the exclusion of inbound roaming, Iridium and Inmarsat calls, Globe subscribers can also make IDD calls to any country in the world and be charged just one rate. Through GLOBE TELECOM's Globelink Direct 00 service, Globe Handyphone's IDD rates across all its plans are US$0.70 per minute for peak hours and US$0.50 for off-peak. Globe defines its off-peak hours as 8:00 pm to 8:00 am Mondays to Fridays, and the whole day and night of Saturdays and Sundays.
