November 5, 1998 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 2524-98 SUBJECT : China Banking Corporation China Banking Corporation ("CHIB") clarified to the Exchange a news article published in the November 4, 1998 issue of the Manila times which reported of CHIB's earnings for the quarter ended September 30, 1998. CHIB, in its letter dated November 4, 1998, confirmed that: ". . .the earnings of P136.287 Million of the Bank for the third quarter ending September 30, 1998 is correct and that we are not the source of the data that supposedly appeared in the Manila Times today. . ."
