Jollibee Meat Plant Gets ISO 9002 Certification

September 29, 1998 PSE CIRCULAR FOR BROKERS NO. 2270-98 JOLLIBEE MEAT PLANT GETS ISO 9002 CERTIFICATION Publicly-listed fast-food leader Jollibee Foods Corporation was recently awarded an ISO 9002 certification by the international certification body, SGS (Societe' Generale Surveillance) Yarsley, for its frozen hamburger patty line. ISO 9002 is the Model for Quality Assurance in production, installation and servicing. The certification covers Jollibee's frozen hamburger patty line from raw materials acquisition to processing and delivery of the patties to Jollibee stores. The patty line is located in the company's central commissary located in Pasig City, where all food requirements of Jollibee stores in Luzon are sourced from. The Jollibee facility is the first ever frozen patty processing line in the country to be ISO certified. The certification was awarded after documentary and on-line assessments were conducted by an SGS team. "This ISO certification goes to the core of our commitment to deliver only the best products to our customers. And our ability to comply will translate to increased productivity, improve efficiency as well as reduction of waste," said Belen Rillo, Jollibee's Vice President for Commisary operations. llcd Key Jollibee personnel likewise underwent training programs on ISO documentation and internal quality audit as well as in-house sessions on documentation.
